PPG Community Events Update

By Dr. Jessica Xu

Thank you to everyone who cared about our district and voted. The PPG posted the result of 2018 PUSD trustee election on its Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/PUSDParentsGroup/).  Don’t forget to LIKE US on Facebook

PPG has an increase in following among parents. We are delighted that so many appreciate what PPG has done at the district level.  However, all these accomplishments would not have been possible without volunteers with leadership skills. PPG relies 100% on parent volunteers. Most of us are working parents with hectic schedules and limited time.  We are seeking five more volunteers with experienced leadership skills to join our executive team: VP of Community Outreach, VP of Fundraising, VP of Legal Affairs, Project Lead for Public Oversight of PUSD Financials, and Project Lead for Supporting Spanish Initiative.  If interested, please email info@pusdparents.org.  Please include relevant experience, your goals for the position and mark the subject line accordingly.

In 2019 PPG will start the New Year effort with a continuation of promoting health as well as foreign language and greater cultural education for all students.  In the spring, it will be PPG’s fifth annual Keep Myopia Away in Digital Age Campaign from March to April 2019.  The PPG will host its second annual Student Spanish Poetry Competition from January to May.  More information is coming soon.  PPG’s fifth annual Student Mandarin Initiative Poster Competition will be from June to October.

The holiday season is upon us.  On behalf of the board and executives of PPG, we wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous New Year.
